Storm damage checklist

Hail last night? Check from the ground.

Don’t climb up there. That’s our job. Walk around the house, tick what you see, and we’ll show you what it looks like up close.

Nothing ticked yet.

Walk around the house and tick anything you can see from the ground or inside.

Around the house, I can see…

1 · The hit

One hailstone. One leak.

Hail doesn’t have to punch a hole. A hard hit knocks the granules off and bruises the shingle underneath.

2 · The bruise

A bruise you can’t see from the yard.

Without its granules, the asphalt bakes in the sun and starts to crack. Over time, rain starts working into it.

3 · Inside the roof

Water finds the nail.

It follows the nail through the underlayment into the wood deck, where it can stay wet, out of sight.

4 · The ceiling

Then it shows up here.

By the time there’s a stain, the deck above has been wet for a while. That’s why we check after every big hail.

How a job goes · claim or not

From the first look to the last nail.

Same steps whether or not you file a claim. Whether to file, and what gets covered, is between you and your insurer. This is the part we do: the roof, documented so it’s easy to check.

  1. Inspection

We walk every slope and check the gutters, vents and siding. If it’s leaking, we tarp it.

  2. Dated photo report

Every slope photographed and dated, damage marked. You get the photos, not just our word.

  3. Written estimate

Line by line: materials, labor, and what’s optional, so nothing surprises you.

  4. If it’s a claim

    We meet your adjuster

If you file, we can be on the roof when the adjuster inspects, to show what we found.

  5. Build

Tarps over the landscaping, tear-off, soft decking replaced, the new roof, then a magnet sweep for nails.

Start with an inspection

Your policy and your adjuster decide coverage. We document the roof and do the work.
